A little about me:
  • I have a lovely wife (seraph_bella), two bright sons and a daughter (currently 7 years old, 4 years old, and 8 months old, respectively) and no pets. We used to have 3 ferrets, a dog, and two cats. We'll likely be getting a wallaby next, but we're waiting for the baby to get a bit older first.
  • I believe that most people, deep down, want to be good. It's just that evil is so easy. And now, scientific proof that I'm right! (:
  • I believe that most human behavior can be explained by the following statement: People are morons.
  • I have an IQ somewhere over 150. They (the test-givers, such as MENSA) usually have problems with me because I dissect the test questions, pointing out scope limitations and such. For many of the questions, there's often no way to determine whether or not the answer is even applicable, and if it is, how it should be weighted, without active brain analysis throughout the test.
  • I practice random acts of kindness and senseless beauty.
  • I am a fount of never-ending ideas, some more important than others. I have a 30-year plan (see my memories; slightly out-of-date) that I incorporate the more important ones into. Each one must be a step or pillar that supports the following steps through technological, political / social, and financial means (all three are required).
  • I consider myself Christian, though not religious. I believe in following these two (blatantly plagiarized) tenets:
    • If it harms none, then do it.
    • Protect the weak from the strong.
  • Some of my best friends are pagans. Some are Christian. Some are Other. I pick my friends by the character of their heart and their actions. Everything else is fluff.
  • I find it best to not take life too seriously, nor with too much humor. Everything in balance. It thus should be no surprise that politically, I'm a Centrist.
  • My favorite TV show of all time is (still) Dead Like Me.
  • I have an alternative spelling I encourage, based loosely on some work I did in years past on physical mouth movement and its effects on pronunciation. I call it "Umerikan", and it can be found described here. I've got a whole set of symbols for it, too, that I'll eventually make into a font.

INTJ is about as close as personality tests can get to describe me. The biggest problem they have is that I'm always on the cusp of at least two of the four letters, and which side I'm actually on depends on what part of my life they're talking about, and my mood at the moment. As a result, though to a lesser extent than INTJ, ENTJ, INFJ, and ENFJ also describe me fairly well.

Here's my list of books that everyone should have memorized by the time they leave elementary school. These are basic, human nature and life fundamentals — not knowing and understanding the principles set out in these books will severely cripple you in everything you try to do. If you haven't read 'em, and don't want to spend the time, try listening to the audio in the car or at other mentally-idle times. Personally, I go back and listen to each of them every so often, both to refresh my awareness of the issues involved, and to occasionally pick up something I missed the previous times around.
